The air / water hoses run from the air/water cylinder to the distal end of the instrument. The water and air exit through the nozzle passing directly over the objective lens. The nozzle can become obstructed, deformed, or positioned incorrectly over the objective lens requiring repair. Again, thoroughly rinsing the solutions from the instrument is very important to avoid residual chemicals form being passed into the patient.
